SBI PO Recruitment 2014 - Exam Pattern

State Bank of India has announced the Exam Pattern for SBI PO Exam 2014.  It consists of two phases.

Phase-I: Objective Tests and Descriptive Test

Phase-II: Group Discussion and Interview


Phase-I:


Objective Test:

1. The Objective Test consists of 200 multiple choice questions.
2. There are 4 sections each carries 50 marks, adding up to a total of 200 marks.
3. It will be conducted online for a duration of 2 hours.
3. There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer. 
4. Individual Sectional cut off will be there. To get qualified for Phase II, candidates are required to get high score in each section.

                                   OBJECTIVE TEST : 200 Marks 



Descriptive Test :

1. The descriptive test will be conducted immediately after objective test gets over.
2. It will be conducted offline for a duration of 1 hour. 
3. Descriptive test will be evaluated only for the candidates those who qualified in objective test with high scores.

                                   DESCRIPTIVE TEST : 50 Marks 




PHASE-II:


Group Discussion: 20 Marks

Candidates those who qualified in Objective test and Descriptive test will be called for Group Discussion. The qualifying marks will be decided by the respective Bank.


Interview: 30 Marks

Candidates those who qualified in Group Discussion will be called for Personal Interview. The qualifying marks will be decided by the respective Bank.

How to prepare for SBI SO Exam : Quantitative Aptitude ?

In SBI SO Exam , it is required to get just minimum cut off marks in Quantitative Aptitude Section. Scores obtained in this section are not considered for the merit list. So, its better to learn important topics in depth rather than covering the whole syllabus. We analyzed previous years question papers and found questions are asked frequently from below mentioned topics.

Important Topics :
1.BODMAS, Simplification,
2.% profit loss,
3. Simple and Compound Interest,
4. Time Speed Distance, Pipes and Cisterns,
5. Geometry- only area, perimeter of square, rectangle, circle. (At most volume of sphere, cube, cone, cylinder and cuboid,
6. Within data interpretation (DI), go for the “Table/piechart” type MCQs- mainly those requiring multiplication, addition or subtraction.

Note : Pay less importance to Trigonometry, quadratic equations, logarithms, coordinate geometry. Because they don’t ask it in SBI. So don’t waste time in those topics.

How to apply for SBI PO Exam ? - Detailed Information

Pre Requisite :

Before applying online, have a scanned copy of your photograph (size 20kb-50kb) and signature (10kb-20kb). Your online application will not be registered unless you upload your photograph and signature as specified.

Candidates can apply for SBI PO Exam on their official website www.statebankofindia.com from 07-04-2014 to 25-04-2014.




How to apply ?


1.Fill the form with required information. 
2.Candidates are advised to give a valid phone number and email id Which will be used for further contact. You will receive your registration confirmation by SMS/email, call letter etc. by email.
3.Once you fill the form, upload scanned copy of your photograph and signature as specified.
4.You can even save your form and can edit later as well. But, this is allowed only 3 times.
5.Candidates can make payment either through online or offline mode.

Fee Payment :


1.Offline Mode: 
Once you fill the form with all required details and select offline mode, the system will generate a cash voucher/ challan form pre-printed with the candidate’s details. You can make payment with this challan at any State Bank of India counter with the requisite fee.Fee payment will be accepted from 2nd working day after registration and can be made within three working days at any branch of State Bank of India.  On payment of the requisite fee through computer generated challan form, registration of the online application will be complete.

2.Online Mode: 
No fee payment challan will be generated.The payment can be made by debit card/ credit card/ internet banking. If the online transaction is not successfully completed, then please register again and make payment online. On successful completion of the transaction, e-receipt and application form will be generated; which may be printed for your record. The printout of the application form is not to be sent to the Bank.

Important Note :
After registration, please note your Registration number and Password generated. It is required to download to your Admit Card / Hall Ticket / Call Letter .
