SBI SO Exam 2014 Admit Cards Available - Download Online

Candidates who had applied for SBI SO Exam can now download their Admit Cards/ Hall ticket/ Call Letters from SBI's official website www.sbi.co.in

SBI SO Exam is to be held on April 19, 2014. Written examination will be conducted online. On qualifying written examination, shortlisted candidates will be called for interview. Final selection will be based on candidates performance on Interview and Group Discussion.

The exam will be held at various centers of Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Bangalore,Bhopal, Raipur, Bhubaneshwar, Chandigarh, Jammu, Chennai, Madurai, Guwahati, Hyderabad,Vishakhapatnam, Kolkata, Lucknow, Varanasi, Mumbai, Nagpur, Pune, Dehradun, Jaipur,New Delhi, Patna, Ranchi, Ernakulam  and Trivandrum.

How to download SBI SO Exam Admit Card/ Call Letter 2014 ?

1. Log in to SBI Official Website www.sbi.co.in or Click here to download

2.  Select the language in which you want to download your Admit Cards. It can be downloaded either in English or Hindi.

3. Enter your Registration Number and Date of Birth or Password (Registration Number and Password are generated at the time of registration).

4. Click on submit.

5. Your Admit Card / Call Letter will be displayed.

6. Candidates are required to take print out of it and submit it in the exam centre.

How to prepare for SBI SO Exam : Quantitative Aptitude ?

In SBI SO Exam , it is required to get just minimum cut off marks in Quantitative Aptitude Section. Scores obtained in this section are not considered for the merit list. So, its better to learn important topics in depth rather than covering the whole syllabus. We analyzed previous years question papers and found questions are asked frequently from below mentioned topics.

Important Topics :
1.BODMAS, Simplification,
2.% profit loss,
3. Simple and Compound Interest,
4. Time Speed Distance, Pipes and Cisterns,
5. Geometry- only area, perimeter of square, rectangle, circle. (At most volume of sphere, cube, cone, cylinder and cuboid,
6. Within data interpretation (DI), go for the “Table/piechart” type MCQs- mainly those requiring multiplication, addition or subtraction.

Note : Pay less importance to Trigonometry, quadratic equations, logarithms, coordinate geometry. Because they don’t ask it in SBI. So don’t waste time in those topics.

SBI Specialist Officer Exam - How to score good marks in Reasoning ?

As you already know , for SBI SO Exam it is enough if you get the minimum cut off marks in English, Reasoning and Quantitative Aptitude. You just need to qualify in Part - I , only then your Part - II will be evaluated. But , the marks you scored in Part - I will not be counted for merit list.

As far as SBI SO Exam is concerned Reasoning section will be of medium level. You can easily score good marks.

How to prepare for Reasoning ?

Its better to concentrate on important topics, rather than learning the whole syllabus for this exam. The following topics are of higher importance :

2. Blood relations,
3. Syllogism,
4. Input and Output Arrangement,
5. Distance and directions sense test,
6. Codind and decoding.

SBI Specialist Officer Exam - How to score good marks in English Section ?

As far as SBI SO exam is concerned, you just need to score minimum cut off marks in Part - I (English, Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude). Q1-9.Read the following passage carefully and answer the questions given below them. Some words / phrases are printed in bold to help you to locate them while answering some of the questions.

In the second week of August 1998, just a few days after the incidents of bombing the US embassies in Nairobi and Dar- es- Salaam, a high- powered, brain- storming session was held near Washington DC, to discuss various aspects of terrorism, The meeting was attended by ten of America’s leading experts in various fields such as germ and chemical warfare, public health, disease control and also by the doctors and the law enforcing officers. Being asked to describe the horror of possible bio= attack, one of the experts narrated the following gloomy scenario.

A culprit in a crowded business centre or in a busy shopping mall of a town empties a test tube containing some fluid, which in turn creates an , unseen cloud of germ of a dreaded disease like anthrax, capable of inflicting a horrible death within  5 days on anyone who inhales it. At first, 500 or so victims feel that they have mid influenza which may recede after a day or two. Then the symptoms return again and their lungs start filling with fluid. They rush to local hospitals for treatment, but the panic- stricken people may find that the medicare services run quickly out of drugs due to excessive demand. But no one would be able to realize that a terrorist attack has occurred. One cannot deny the possibility that the germ involved would be of contagious variety capable of causing an epidemic. The meeting concluded that such attacks, apart from causing immediate human tragedy, would have dire long term effects on the political and social fabric of a country by way of ending people’s trust on the competence of the government.

The experts also said that the bombs used in Kenya and Tanzania were of the old fashion variety and involved large quantities of high explosives, but new terrorism will prove to be more deadly and probably more elusive than hijacking an aeroplane or a gelignite of previous decades. According Bruce Hoffman, an American specialist on political violence, old overthrow a colonial power or the capitalist system and so on. These terrorists were not shy about planting a bomb or hijacking an aircraft and they set some limit to their brutality. Killing so many innocent people might turn their natural supporters off. Political terrorists want a lot of people watching, but not a lot of people watching, but not a lot of people dead. “Old terrorism sought to change the  world while the new sort is often practiced by those who believe that the world has gone beyond redemption,” he added.

Hoffman says, “New Terrorism has no long term agenda, but is ruthless in its short- term intentions. It is often just a cacophonous cry of protest or an outburst of religious intolerance or a protest against the West in general and the US in particular. Its perpetrators may be religious fanatics or die- hard opponents of a government and see no reason to show restraint. They are simply intent on inflicting the maximum amount of pain on the victim.”

Exam Pattern for SBI Specialist Officer Exam 2014

Candidates appearing for SBI Specialist Officer Exam should have a clear idea about Exam Pattern and Syllabus. This is the most crucial part in your preparation process. Having clear idea on this will help you to concentrate on high weightage topics and paves way to score good marks easily.

Here is the exam pattern that we provided based on the analysis of previous year Question Papers.

There are 2 parts in SBI SO Exam :
Part -I

1. Reasoning
2. English Language
3. Quantitative aptitude


You can expect about 120 Questions each carrying one mark adding to totally 120 marks. Time allotted for this section is 90 minutes. It is fairly good enough if you get the minimum cut off in these sections for this particular exam. Because the marks of above 3 sections won't be considered for your merit list. If one got totally 90 marks in these section and the other got 100 marks but both will be considered the same. You just need to score the minmum cut off marks in these sections. So don't waste your time much.


Part -II
Professional Knowledge

This is the ultimate section that is going to decide your merit list. Time allotted for this section is 45 minutes. The more you score in this section, the higher will be your ranking. Since this part is going to test your subject knowledge , you should concentrate more on this. You can expect about 50 Questions each carrying 2 marks adding to totally 100 marks for this section.

One good thing is you don't have negative marks in this examination.
